MOSCOW – Russia has declared the charge d'affaires of Lithuania in Russia, Virginija Umbrasiene, "persona non grata," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

An employee from the Lithuanian Embassy was summoned to the foreign ministry on Wednesday over the "unjustified expulsion of the Russian charge d'affaires in Lithuania" earlier this week, and was informed of Russia's decision, the ministry said in a statement.

The Lithuanian diplomat has five days to leave the territory of Russia, the ministry said, adding that Moscow reserves the right to take additional measures if further hostile actions are taken by Vilnius.
